The Official "NFL Coaching Changes" Thread

We've come into the time of the year in the NFL where we will see a lot of coaches and coordinators getting fired. So I'll start things off.

A couple of the biggest changes so far:

Bills fire whole coaching staff
Bears fire Offensive Coordinator Ron Turner
Redskins fire Head Coach Jim Zorn and hire Mike Shanahan

Do we talk about the coaching changes or just announce coaching changes in this thread?

Bills might hire the guy who was the interem head coach after firing their coach. He's got an interview sometime this week. The Bucs are keeping Raheem Morris another seaosn (Bad move)

Skins Hire Mike Shanahan to Coach next year. Redskins should be better next year with Shananhan at coach and shannahan is goin to get some talent because its Shanahan

Weis in KC is very interesting. He has a butt load of talent there but as usual he probably wont do anything with it.

He was the offensive coordinator in New England, and has been an offensive coach his entire career.

Crennal was the defensive coordinator.

He should really help Bowie and Cassel

Jamaal Charles did fill in nicely for KC, but they really have to start questioning whether or not Matt Cassel is really going to be there guy.

I think most people are willing to give him a bye this year considering he didn't have much to work with, but I would definately keep Brodie Croyle around just in case.

They should get some help with that high draft pick

KC's offense isn't great, but it isn't horrible either.

Not much passing, but they do have a pretty good running game.

That defense on the other hand is just atrocious.

The fact that they were 31st in the NFL against the run, and given how many big time defensive lineman your going to have in this year's draft, I would just take the best lineman available, which will probably wind up being Derrick Morgan out of Georgia Tech.

I'd also take a look at Rolando McClain should he decide to come out, and would actually prefer him over anyone in this year's draft, but that's just me.

Well from what I'm hearing right now, not only is Pete Carroll rumored to be the next head coach of the Seahawks, it is now virtually a done deal, and would be more suprising if he's not named the next head coach then if he is.

Wow Pete Carrol as a head coach that's something. Pete Carrol wasn't the best head coach in the NFL he went 33-31 as a head coach. I'm worried that he will be a bust, and do really bad for the Seahawks. The Seahawks still sell out games on Sunday which amazes me with their past losing seasons. I wish they would've actually gone over someone like Ron Rivera but I guess this works.

Oh Romeo, Oh Romeo, where art thou Romeo?

In Kansas City of course. Looks like the Pats coaching staff is getting back together in the midwest.

Bills have also hired Chan Gailey although this news is a few days old.

I don't know, Gregg Williams didn't work out, Mike Mularkey didn't work out, Dick Jauron didn't work out, don't think Chan Gailey will either.

Bills probably need a QB more then any other team in the NFL right now.  Trent Edwards is decent, as is Ryan Fitzpatrick, but these aren't the guys who are going to take your team to the next level.

I would be surprised if the Bills go anywhere other then quarterback in the first round.

I think the only way they would go QB, is if Sam Bradford was still on the board, which I doubt he will be.

I tend to agree that Bradford will probably be gone by the time the Bills have their first round pick, but that still doesen't mean they won't go with a QB in the draft.

There's plenty of guys like Colt McCoy, and Jevan Snead who will still be around for the second round that can be justified as a QB of the future.

I could see them trading up though to get a Sam Bradford.

If the Rams don't take a QB, then I could very easily see the Bills and Chiefs swapping first round picks.

No doubt the Chiefs are looking to draft a lineman, and this draft is stacked with them, so them dropping down a few picks wouldn't be that big of a deal, and they could potentially pickup another low round draft choice out of it.
