The deal has been very close to happening for a while now.
Chris Duncan just wasn't cutting it out in left, but this deal leaves the Cards without a long term option at third base.
And with most now believing Troy Glaus won't be able to play third anymore, it leaves the Cardinals really without any third baseman which I thought was their biggest need.
Well that just adds another bat to that lineup which i think now might be the only team who can really compete and beat the Dodgers out there unless the Philles end up making a move
