Two huge Trade's going down

The Spurs are recieving Richard Jefferson and the Bucks are recieving Fabricio Oberto, Bruce Bowen, and Kurt Thomas. This is a great pick up for the Spurs now you got a man that averaged 19.6 points per game and 21.2 over the last two season without missing a game. The Bucks probaly did this because they want to try and sign back Ramon Sessions there point guard and Charlie Villanueva,

The Boston Celtics offered a trade the Pistons which would include Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo going to the Pistons for Tayshun Prince, Rodney Stuckey, and Rip Hamilton. What do you guy's think about these trades? I think that this will help put the Pistons back in the top of the Eastern Conference and it helps the Celtics out because they get a player like Tayshun who will most likely play on the bench he will bring energy and great defensive play, he can shoot the ball and drive.

The Pistons would get screwed in that deal. Rondo is never going to develop into a great player. Ray Allen has 1 or 2 good years left in him.Stuckey,Hamilton, and Prince all have great futures. Stuckey is 23, Rip is 31, and Prince is 29. All 3 of those guys have showed that they can be great players. Rondo hasn't showed that to me.

Two huge trades going down? Only one is going down. You jumped the gun a little bit on the Celts/Pistons Trade. It is not going to happen.

The Spurs/Bucks trade on the other hand is a done deal. Great trade for both teams in my opinion. The Spurs need someone else to help out Tony Parker. As good as Timmy Duncan is, he is aging and can not carry the offensive load like he has in the past. Manu is always hurt. Jefferson will give them some much needed offensive help, but this does make their defense worse.

The Bucks will get some leadership with this trade. This also allows last years lottery pick Jo Alexander to get more PT which will only help the Bucks out in the future. They were not contending anyways so it was a good move for them. It also helps them clear up some cap space, which is always a good thing.

The SPurs needed this because now they are once again one of the favorites to win the Western Conference with the Lakers and the Rockets. The Bucks are rebuiliding but wow this is great for the Spurs.

Oh I have to comment on this

The Pistons are much better off without the trade.

Im grading this on a 3 point scale, comparing the players.

Lose Stuckey, Gain Rondo: They both really cancel each others pros and cons out. They both have tons of potential. Its really a zero effect.

Lose Hamilton, Gain Allen: I love this. Hamilton isn't the player he used to be. Sure hes great off the ball and can find himself wide open, but you just can't compare to Allen. A pure sharpshooter and clutch player. It makes me wonder why the Celtics wan't to give him up.

Lose Prince: An add on for the Celtics to make the Hamilton/Allen switch a little more sense. The Pistons have absolutely no one to replace Prince if he goes.

Overall I think losing Prince is the key factor here.

I really hope they don't take this trade. As much as I would like to see Ray Allen in a Detroit jersey, the trade is just going to go downhill for the Pistons.

hi. I'm here to say this. The Spurs are going to win the West with the addition of another 20+ point scorer. R-Jeff is going to be huge for them.

And to add to Bobos post he was right on two big trades going down. The Timber Wolves and Wizards made a trade. The T-Wolves send Randy Foye and Mike Miller to the Wizards for Etahn Thomas, The fifth pick in Thursdays Draft, Darius Songila and another player to be named. The Wiz get two players who can help that team and i think its obvious that the T-wolves are trying to get rid of some money.

Two more trades made today. the Suns send Shaq to the Cavs for Ben Wallace and Sasa Pavlavic. This helps the Cavs out alot. I believe the 46th pick and cash was also sent to the Suns.

And the Warriors traded Jamall Crawford to the Hawks for Acie Law and Speedy Claxton. Now the Hawks have to get a PG in the Draft.

Thoughts. Opinions. Concerns. Questions.

Bad trade for the Cavs great trade for the Suns you get rid of a big guy that was holding you down last season and get a draft pick where you can pick up a young center. This allows Robin Lopez to get more time at the center position for you I like this a lot actually.

i think its a pretty good trade for the Cavs. They get a big man who mgiht be able to play Dwight Howard cause Big-Z can't I mean it could hurt team chemestry.

I am a Cavs fan and watched like 75 of the 82 games last season. I believe that I have a pretty good feel for the team.
Think about the trade. The Cavs get a HOF Center, yes he is in the latter stages of his career, but last season he still averaged 18 and 8. To get him the Cavs basically gave up nothing. Ben Wallace was going to retire anyways and Coach Brown never played Sasha, which I feel was a mistake all along. So considering that, this is a good trade for the Cavs. Shaq only has one year left on his contract so after this season they have plenty of cap room to sign someone to compliment Lebron, if Lebron does resign with them, which I believe he wants to and he will.

If Lebron does not resign with them, then they are left with a ton of money and they could realistically go after two of the big name guys that summer.

This trade helps the Cavs, but it does not totally fix all the problems. They need to get another athletic wing.

Considering the Hedo is testing the Free Agent market, I believe he would be a good pick up for the Cavs if they have enough cap space to sign him. He is a decent defender, not great. He also has the ability to spread the floor. People now have to not only double Lebron but have to double Shaq, so shooters are going to be open.

I also believe Shaq is going to play at a very high level this season. He is motivated. He is in the last year of his contract and he has said that he wants a two year contract extenison after this season. So he has to prove either to the Cavs or another team that is worthy of playing two more seasons. Another major thing is that KOBE just won a title and you know that Shaq wants to win another one. Right now he and Kobe each have 4 titles.

I just read on espn.com that Vince Carter might get traded to the Magic. The Magic would send Alston,Lee, and Battie. They would get Carter.

So today another huge trade was made. The Magic Send Courtney Lee, Rafer "Skip to my Lou" Alston and Tony Battie to the New Jersey Nets for Vince Carter And Ryan Anderson. I've also heard a posible second round pick in the draft could be coming to orlando. This trade helps the Magic out. yes i know Carter is getting old and is injury prone. He will play at his best and highest skill possible for the Magic becaus ehe has a dam good chance of getting a ring. Now the Magic need to focus on re-signing Turkoglu to keep him around as the second ball handler. But back to Carter this adds a real number one scorer to the team and they will prolly be the favorite to win the East again next season

Magic just got worse because of this trade and I'll tell you why. Ryan Anderson is fine player I mean not to bad he can replace Battie, but Carter he is gonna bring this team down because he will always want the ball and if Hedo comes back with the Magic that isn't going to work. Hedo runs the team not Vince, so they are going to clash this season some time and just bring the whole Magic Franchise down.

Given the way LeBron has acted in the past year (talking about New York, showing up at Yankee games, the massive clearning of cap space) and the way Cleveland has acted (selling part of the team to Chinese investors) I would say it's more likely then not that next year LeBron will either be a Knick or a Net.

Just way too much money to pass up with marketing opportunities not to go to New York.

Obviously the Cavs want to keep LeBron, but even they know they cannot compete financially with what New York can offer.

So if indeed this is LeBron's last year in Cleveland, then this is the best chance the Cavs will ever have to win the NBA title for quite some time.

Adding Shaq is clearly a short term, put all your chips on the table type of move.

The Cavs are going to be a playoff team even if Shaq doesn't play a single game during the regular season, but that's not why they got him.

You saw it against Orlando.  Cleveland has no inside scoring threat, and it probably cost them a trip to the NBA Finals.

Shaq gives them that scoring threat (he can still put up at least 15 a game), and they don't need him to play at 100% during the regular season.  Starting maybe 55 games a year, and coming off the bench in another ten would suffice.  But they do need him at 100% come postseason time if they are to get past the Lakers, the Celtics, Magic, and any other team they might encounter.

I think the Cavs are definately a better team with Shaq, and if the Cavs do win an NBA title this year, it might just be enough to get LeBron to come back.

Anything short of that, and the chances of LeBron winding up in a uniform for one of the two New York teams increases by tenfold.

Bottomline is Lebron ends up with the Nets next year becasue they will be in Brooklyn and Lebron happens to be really good freinds with owner Jay Z, so I think that the Nets will offer a giant contract and Lebron will help the Nets go straight to the top. He will get plenty of help with Devin Harris and Brook Lopez starting to develop. They got good three point shooters in Keyon Dooling and Bobby Simmons so if this goes down the Nets will be a team to be messing with for a long time to come.

Uh i don't think that he'll be going to the Nets. Yeah they cleaned out alot of cap space trading Vincanity to the Magic but the Knicks will give him an offer he can'e resist. And they even said when they were giving Toney Douglas (Their first round pick at 28) that he'd be giving up the number 23 after next season for Lebron shows me they won't let him get away. And this is the knicks were talking about. Their like the Yankees of basketball and pay so much for guys that its crazy

Boston pays a lot for guys also and you are right about the Knicks, but the Knicks are a team that has no upside in future right now. The Nets have a lot better roster than the Knicks and at the end of the day he would be smarter to sign with the Nets because they have a better roster and are going places.

I still think Lebrons going to the Knicks. He'll go to the team who gives him the most money

He should go with the team that has the best chance of winning and that is the Nets, they'll offer him over 150 million dollars for probaly eight-nine years which is a lot of money. The Nets are better than the Knicks and that's what it should come down to.

Yes even if the Nets have the better chance of winning a ****ign title. He has the best chance he'll ever get is with the Cavs right now. He has somoene else who can score and maybe they can play a little defense now with Shaq. Even if he does go to the Nets with Devin Harris he won't win a championship because he can't do it by himself

Shaq will do little for the Cavaliers and this is probaly a one year gig. IF I was Big Z I would be compalining to Mike Brown about being the back up to Shaq because Big Z right now has more skills that the Cavs can use to win in this tough eastern conference. The Cavs need to go out and get a long atheltic forward who can guard platers like Hedo Turgolu and Rashard Lewis. They should go out and get Tyson Chandler

It's irrelevant talent wise who's better between the two New York clubs, because whether LeBron goes to either the Knicks or the Nets they will become an instant playoff team, and probably become NBA title contenders within three years.

LeBron is a type of player who will bring in veteran players like Wally Szczerbiak to your team who are willing to take pay cuts just to play alongside LeBron.

The only way LeBron goes to the Nets is if they get the go ahead to build their arena in Brooklyn.

Currently construction for the arena is slated for October of this year, but the residents of the area have fought the arena's construction tooth and nail every bit of the way, and it's very possible that another lawsuit could ensue further delaying the construction of the arena.

It's too early to tell.

The Knicks and the Nets can't make any offers to LeBron right now, so we don't know exactly what they have in mind, and it's very well possible that he may stay in Cleveland, or another team like Atlanta or Miami.  He could even go overseas, although I doubt LeBron will leave the country.

Right now I'd say 60% chance LeBron signs with either the Knicks or the Nets, 30% he remains with Cleveland (50% if they win the title), and 10% he goes to another team, 2% chance he goes to a team outside the NBA.

All of these are just pure guesses on my part that aren't really based on much, so I have no clue exactly how accurate these numbers are.

Yes Big-Z might have more skill than Shaq for the Cavs but still Shaq is here for one year. A go out in a bang year and try to win the Title. He's going to play the best he can and prolly the hardest he ahs in years. Now to where he goes in 2010 i might eve go out on a limb and say hell someone over seas will pay him a bitch load of money and he will take it if thats his best offer
