I work at a little place called Dr. Gyros. We sell, among other things, Gyros. So last night I'm at work and get to talking sports with my co-workers like we always do. Then the debate came up. A debate that left a kitchen divided. So after much debate I decided to bring this here and see what your opinions are on this matter. That debate is started by one simple question:
Your team is down by two with 5 seconds to go in Game Seven of the NBA Finals, who do you give the ball to: Kobe or LeBron?
I was the only sane person in the kitchen and I gave the obvious answer, Kobe. However my 3 co-workers disagreed. Then my boss came in and we asked him, he said Kobe. That's about when I decided that this is the ultimate debate in basketball right now....
What are your thoughts?

I would have to say Lebron James because you don't know what he is going to do. He can shoot it over your head and make it, he can drive in a pass the ball off to someone and have them lay it up or he can drive and lay it in. Kobe Bryant you know is going to shoot. I would like to have both of these guys to have the ball in the final seconds of a game, but in this one I am going to go wiht Lebron James.

I wouldn't give the ball to either of them. I'd give it to Paul Pierce or Ray Allen who are both clutch down the end of games. If i had to pick on of those two i'd take Lebron cause he can hit the Jumper or if he has to he can drive in and get a lay up or a dunk.

True he doesn't have as good as of a jump shot but he is really good shooter. Steven that's why he could pass the ball off to an open teammate down in the paint for an easy bucket.

But remember, in this situation theres only 5 seconds left in game 7 of the NBA Finals. You are gonna wanna go for the win.. not the tie. And if LeBron does drive the lane and pass out.. time will run out. And I also dont see why people are saying LeBron can drive the lane, Kobe has no problem driving the lane.
Baja- I am a very casual fan of the NBA. But its just common sense that if LeBron tries to drive the lane in the closing seconds all your guys around the lane are gonna collapse on him..

Lebron could drive the lane and if he gets touched they are calling a foul on the other team and he gets to go to the line where he will probaly most likely hit both freethrows to win the game for the Cavs.

Sorry, then Lebron who knows you tripple team him in the lane then he kicks it out to Moe Williams, Wally Sczerbiak, or even Daniel Gibson to hit the three. If no one is on any of them they are automatic.

Odds are by the time he drvies it into the lane he won't have enough time to pass it out. That's why i's rather have Ray Allen or Paul Pierce cause they can both hit that three point jump shot

Paul Pierce, really? This may be just a little biased, but give me Ben Gordon over Paul Pierce. BTW.. I didn't keep count, but in the series against the Bulls, Pierce missed a lot of free throws late in games. If a guy cant hit a free throw in clutch moments I dont want him taking threes in clutch moments. (Insert Derrick Rose Joke Here).

How many MVP awards has Robert Horry won? Sure he's a very clutch shooter, but this debate is about the two best players in the league and which one is better in the clutch.

What does MVP awards have to do with being clutch? I can name a bunch of guys just like Horry.
We could have this conversation for ever cause there are so many good clutch shooters in the NBa today or from the Past. But if i were to want Kobe or LeBron right now i'd take Bron

Yes people, there are a TON of extremely clutch players in the NBA. But this debate is about who is more clutch: Kobe or LeBron... not which one of them is the most clutch player in the league.
And for those of you who say LeBron, I'm gonna say to you exactly what I said to my co-workers who chose LeBron... You are insane!! LeBron has hit what, two game-winning shots in his career? Kobe hits game-winning shots in his sleep!!

Lebron is still going up to his prime. He hasn't hit his peak yet. In two years he'll hit his peak and guess what be better than Kobe was or even Micheal Jordan. Lebron is a beast and in a couple of years he'll be as clutch as clutch can get.

In this situation currently I would rather had Kobe. I am a Lebron fan and feel that he is currently the best player in the league but in this described situation I just feel that Kobe is the man. I believe this simply do to experience. At the same age Lebron is way ahead of Kobe, but with Kobes extra experience he is the man in these situations.
