ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- The Orlando Magic have re-signed center Adonal Foyle after trading him to the Memphis Grizzlies last month.
The team announced the signing Monday. Foyle was dealt to Memphis in a three-team deal just before the Feb. 19 trade deadline that brought point guard Rafer Alston to Orlando from Houston. The Magic needed an upgrade at point guard after All-Star Jameer Nelson's season-ending shoulder injury. Memphis waived Foyle on March 1.
Magic coaches have touted the 34-year-old Foyle as a strong practice partner for center Dwight Howard. His re-signing is likely for those purposes.
Foyle played in five games this season with the Magic, averaging 1.2 points and 2.2 rebounds.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Knicks have signed free agent center Courtney Sims to a 10-day contract.
Team president Donnie Walsh announced the signing of the 2.11-meter (6-foot-11), 111-kilogram (245-pound) Sims on Monday. He had been playing for the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League.
Undrafted out of the University of Michigan, Sims has played a total of 13 minutes in four NBA games with Indiana and Phoenix over the last two seasons.
He signed two 10-day contracts with the Phoenix Suns beginning on Jan. 20 and appeared in one game for the Suns this season.
Cheikh Samb's 10-day contract had expired and the club elected not to re-sign him. The Knicks roster stands at 14 players.

Both these signings won't mean much to the teams just to add a little depth. Foyle was with the magic till traded. Simms not much NBA Experience. Might get in a game or two. Foyle will just help play some Defense on Dwight Howard in practices.
