POLL: Has the economy effected your attendance to sporting events?

Bower & Cause asked the listeners today on "The Wheelhouse" if the current state of the economy is effecting you, the consumer, when it comes to purchasing tickets to your favorite sporting events/teams.

Are you going to more games then usual, less games as usual or the normal amount?

Please discuss your thoughts.

the cost of tickets and food at games are very expensive but i tend to go to the same amount of games a year. i go to new york to see 2 yankees games a year, and i go right down the road basically to see the yankees AAA team play about 5 games a year

I dont really go to any football, basketball, or hockey games. The majority of my attendance is at baseball games. Every year I go to atleast 2 games. I went to one last year and it was Sox vs. Yankees. I didn't go to any Cubs games like I usually would because I was saving my money for a trip to Hawaii. But this year, I'm already planning on going to atleast 4 Cubs games, if not more. So pretty much the economy isn't effecting my attendance at games at all.

I haven't been to a game in 3 years, I like staying at home. I don't have to waste my money on that expensive food. Its like $14 for a slice of pizza. I can go over my friends house and watch all the games on his flat screen HD tv.

But I'm a Cubs fan. And I live about 3 1/2 hours from Chicago. No matter how many games I watch on TV, there is nothing like going to a baseball game at Wrigley.

I like going to the Mariner games because thats the only team I can get tickets to, the Seahawks this year had 300 seats availble by the start of the season so I couldn't get tickets to that.

Yah the good news for the Mariners is that they didn't raise any prices so the normal person can still afford to go to a game.
