Ken Griffey Jr. returns to Seattle

#24 will be returning to patrol the Mariners outfield this season sources close to the slugger have said today. After all the crappy stories in Baseball lately I like this story as it is a fitting way to end Ken Griffey Jr.'s career.

What does everyone else think about this story?

Alleluia praise the Lord a miracle has happend for me. Finally i get to see Ken Griffey Jr. come back and play for the team he started for the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners as of now are selling out for opening week so thats good for the club. In this area on the news with Paul Silvi they said that before his signing that ticket sales were down 8% from last year and now this might boost the tickets bought. I know that I am going to buy tickets this year and watch more Mariner games.

really? u think they are going to win more games because of griffey? if they do win more games than last year, itll be because of being healthy and getting some good pitching from their aces(hernandez, bedard). griffey is a nice addition, but hes not going to hit more than 20 homers and 70 rbis

Seattle will be far from a playoff contender. This is just a good way of a ending a great career. Griffey patrolling the Mariners outfield is what should have always happened. The minute he put the Reds uniform on his career literally changed forever.

It would be awesome if he found some of that magic again.

Its definetly a feel good story but he could have made the Braves a real contender.

Junior may have had the most misfortune of any ballplayer of that calliber that I can remember.

The guy wanted to go to Cincinnati, and was willing to take less money to do it, simply because that's where his dad was coaching, and what did he get for it?

8 and a half seasons where he missed about a third of the games he could have played in, all of which significantly reduced his playing ability.

Unlike Bonds or A-rod, Griffey seems to be one of the nicest guys for a guy with his talent that I've ever seen.  He's right up there with Tony Gwynn for being one of the few ballplayers I would actually like to know, even if they had no athletic ability to speak of.

I love having Griffey back this is awesome. I am a proud supporter of this move as I said up above. But SG the Mariners probaly won't win more games because he probaly won't do anything spectacular this year.
