We have been getting email for the past half hour or so about web reports that state Christian Cage is at Raw. Here is what we know.
Around 5 p.m., we (all of us at the site) got an email from someone we don't know named Scott Williams that said:
"we are outside the building for tonight's Raw and Christian Cage has arrived at the venue in a rental car with it looked like Val Venus, I really couldn't tell who was driving, but Christian waived at all of us."
We called sources at the show, who told us that Jeff Hardy was there (which Mike Johnson reported) but we could not confirm that Christian was there. Since we could not confirm it, we didn't report it.
About an hour later, I found out that a regular correspondent at the site had been sent the same email, so obviously Scott Williams is informing everyone he can find in the wrestling media of this. That is the scoop as we know it.
Just to clarify, Christian Cage was not backstage at Raw last night in New Orleans and neither was Val Venis, who he was alleged to have arrived with.
As Dave Scherer wrote yesterday, a "Scott Williams" wrote every media outlet he could find claiming he saw the pair entering the venue. We checked with sources and were told neither were there, but that WWE champ Jeff Hardy was backstage.
Some outlets took the Cage story and ran with it when they received the email, but as Dave theorized last night, it was obviously someone trying to work the websites into reporting false news.
Several readers sent word that TNA finally pulled Christian Cage off their website's roster page yesterday. There had been no communication between the company and Cage since he was written out of the company after an attack by the Main Event Mafia. Had Cage opted to remain, he would have been the lead talker and top face for the TNA Frontline group, although the belief all along within the company was that he had made his decision several months ago to move on.
Sources claimed Cage became less interested and enthused with the product and harder to deal with dating back to early October. In a meeting with Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett, Cage was said to have told them he had another offer and was siding with taking it, but hadn't made up his mind, according to the source.
The belief is that Cage has quietly signed with WWE and will debut as part of the Smackdown brand shortly. His TNA deal officially expired last week.
OH SNAP! I hope he goes back to the Captain Charisma, I liked Christian back in the WWE but I started disliking him in the TNA. I hope he is in action soon.

If I had to put money on it I would say Christian was the person who attacked Jeff Hardy at the Survivor Series "hotel stairwell" incident. Reforming Edge & Christian on the Smackdown brand.
