2 weeks after benching him during the two minute drill the Washington Redskins signed Donovan McNabb to a 5-year $78MM extension with incentives that can add up to a total of $88MM when it's all said and done. What are your thoughts on the Redskins deal?
Personally I think it's a dumb move by Washington to invest 5 years into a quarterback already at age 34. Who knows how many years McNabb has left in the tank. He already moves terribly slow and shows his age when he is on the field.
Well the good thing is that the option for McNabbs contract doesnt kick in till almost the start of the 2011 season (assuming they have a season). This way if Shanahan decides they dont want him, they can cut him and only be hurt fianacially for one season
