By 2012, this is what NCAA Conferences will gain or lose:

Big Ten

Nebraska

Big 12

Loses Nebraska, Colorado

Pac 10

Colorado
Utah

Mountain West

Boise St
Fresno St
Nevada
Loses Utah, BYU

WAC

Loses Boise St, Fresno St, Nevada

Independents

BYU

There will not be a 5 team conference. The Big 12 will most likely fold and Kansas/K-State (Mizzou/Iowa St picked up by Big Ten and Baylor picked up by SEC) will be the ones stuck in the middle of it all and will probably have to become independent.

Update: Kansas and K-State will leave for the Mountain West if the Big 12 Folds.

Boise State also joins the Mountain West Conference. It looks like they could be becoming a BCS conference to replace the Big 12.

Its all falling into place now.....

Bout time the Mountain West got some serious attention. It's sad to see the Big 12 fall though, because coming up to this year they were in my opionion the best conference in college football. But Boise State now gets out of the Wac and now has some serious competition( or at least two steps up from the WAC). If Kansas and Kansas State went to the MWC also they would make THE MWC an even better basketball conference than it is now.

Texas A&M Doesn't want to go with Texas. They feel it would show they feel they have to do what Texas does. They would move to the SEC most liekly. They have said if thats what happens they would rather move away from texas and go into the SEC

So Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A+M are staying in the Big 12.

Lol @ Dale saying A+M doesn't want it to seem like they have to do what Texas does.

That was if they all moved. A&M was looking to join the SEC not the Pac Ten like Texas. They all stay just to keep the conference in tact (For now)

So lets say all the teams stay....one teams gotta go into that weak Big 12 North to make divisions even. Who takes the bait. I think Oklahoma St will go because they want to keep that Red River Rivalry between OU and Texas

I know they keep saying they want to keep 10 teams now but I think they should go after TCU and Houston and make the South division all Texas teams and move the Oklahoma teams to the north.....then just have OU and Texas play every year...just match up one North school and one South School to make a rivalry game with

Pac 10 sends invite to Utah. This would be a crusher to the MWC if they still hope to become a BCS school.

Now not only are BCS conferences mixing it up, but small conferences are too.

BYU declares independency?!?!?! How can they survive on that

well they decided to stay last I read....BYU doesnt have the national following that a Notre Dame has and I think they might have realized that in their decision to stay put
