First week of the 2010 MLB season is currently under way.
Which teams & players have surprised you so far? Granted it is the 1st week of the season but some players have to be shocking you with their production.
For me it has been Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Vernon Wells who is batting .600 with 4 HRs & 7 RBIs (as of 4/8/10).
The Pittsburgh Pirates have been fantastic so far and Jason Heyward has been as good as advertised. Its going to be fun seeing how they will continue on their season.

Im glad I took Wells in most of my leagues Ill admit lol......the first week is always weird every season but its not til June does the actualy story play out

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go.
To me, Vernon Wells is a classic example of a guy who just got to a certain point, and then just stopped caring.
He does just enough to justify the Jays keeping him in the lineup everyday.
He's always kept himself in shape, but he's not going to put the time and effort in it takes to be a superstar. The guy just wants his money, and now that he has plenty of it, he has no reason to keep going.
He'll be out of the league within three years, guaranteed. Thing about guys like that is that the second their production drops off just a little, nobody will touch them.
Ask Gary Sheffield who could still be a solid hitter in the majors. Nobody will even touch him, because no team is willing to put up with the BS that comes with having a guy like Sheffield on your team, unless he is a superstar.
