Twins closer Joe Nathan is out indefinitely with a torn ligament in his right elbow. Needless to say, it's a bit of a blow to the Twins to lose argubly the best closer in the game today.
Currently there is no timetable on his return, but don't expect him back anytime soon. If the Twins are lucky he might be back by September.
Well if he is out for the whole season then they have no chance of winning that division. Now if after two weeks of not throwing he can manage to throw and be somewhat effective and split time with either Rauch or Neshek they have a better chance. Its gonna be real hard if he does miss the whole season and has to get Tommy John Surgery to fix it which would prolly put him out most of if not all of next year too then then it could be close to the end of his days in the Majors

A very good example of how downhill Nathans career is going to get. Check out what happened to BJ Ryan. He used to be of the best closers in the game and then he tore his elbow up. Now after Tommy John surgery, he hasn't been the same.
