I don't think anyone actually knows how hard it is to lead the league in batting as a catcher.

Not only that but to be argubly the best defensive catcher in the game just takes it to a whole other level for me.

If I had to start a team with one player today it would be Joe Mauer, and that's why he's my pick for the MLB player of the year.

Honorable mention to Phat Albert.

Joe Maure. Its close with Albert but Mauer missed a month and still kicked major ass
