Tonight is a big night for the UFC. First is UFC Fight Night 19. The main event put lightweights Melvin Guilard vs Nate Diaz. Guilard is coming off a win following his suspension for cocaine while Diaz has lost his last two fights against the upper echelon of 155lbs. Diaz will probably submit Guilard in the 1st round. The fight I want to see is Gray Maynard v Roger Huerta. Maynard with a win is probably next in line for a shot at lightweight title but this Huerta's last fight in the UFC. Huerta the one time golden boy of the UFC wants to pursue acting so he is putting fighting on the back burner. Maynard is an excellent wrestler, Huerta will probably have the striking advantage.
Following UFC Fight Night is the season premiere of The Ultimate Fighter. Ratings have been down lately but this season got a boost for a couple of reasons. First off the coaches hate each other. Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans do not get a long and are both former light heavyweight champions. According to Rampage it is going to be some black on black crime when these two coaches square off after Rampage is done filming the A-Team movie. Reason #2 Kimbo Slice. Kimbo makes his return to MMA after getting KO'd in 14 seconds. He is still a big draw and the only way he was going to get into the UFC was by being on TUF. It will be interesting how the UFC handles Kimbo.
What a way UFN has started out. Two great fights that went to decision. It was back and forth in both. When it looked like one would dominate and finish, the other would come back.
