That catch was amazing but a perfect game is a perfect game. He becomes the 18th pitcher to throw a perfect game and his second no hitter. Isn't the old saying is you can't be perfect, well Mark Buehrle was perfect and he deserves it. That was amaing the way he pitched today.

Great defense and great pitching go hand in hand.

Unless you strike out everybody (which has been done before in a minor league game by Ron Necciai) you need your defense to win as much if not more then your pitching.

Buehrle gets the credit, but a perfect game is really a team effort.  It takes all nine guys on the field to do it.

As for the poll you get a home run saving grab a couple of times a month.  You get a perfect game once every few years.

Well the Perfect game was a great feat. That catch might have been the best home run robber other than the Crawford one in the all star game all season. I agree with Pmoe that it is a team effort and you can't do it by yourself so i give it up to Mark Buehrle for throwing it but also for the defense behind him including the Catch by wise

I think the real question here is after throwing a no-no and a perfect game and being one of the most consistant pitchers in the league is Mark Buehrle a Hall of Famer??

I think he can. and to add to it he has a WS ring also. He'll prolly keep on pitching for a while cause he isn't a hard throwing pitch so he could be a guy who goes for a while and could get to 200 wins

As of now, no Mark Buehlre is not a Hall of Fame pitcher.

Could he be?  Maybe

He's not often talked about when going over the best pitchers in the game, simply because of where he pitches I feel, but his numbers do hold up fairly well when comparing him against some of the games other best pitchers.
