Edge has torn a tendon in his ankle. The injury occured Friday Night and is said to be serious, it will require surgery and it is rumored he will be out till at least the end of 2009. The match was stopped and EMT's came to the ring, according to a fan report, EDGE preceded to grab the mic and apologize to fans.
They will probably keep them on Y2J and give him another partner since the reason why they put the straps on those guys in the first place was to put them on RAW & ECW as well. I would personally love to see a tag team title tournament take place. It's about time they brought the emphasis back to the tag division.
I agree 100% JP and I would love a tournament. I could however, see them put the belts on a young team such as Legacy or back on the Colons and we could see these belts lose relevence just as bright young guys like John Morrison have in the past.
The only problem I have with the tag belts is that the WWE doesnt appreciate tag teams at all. Not since the days of the rockers,brainbusters,lod, and demolition have they had a successful division. at least tna has some marketable teams there and tend to keep their divisions seperate.

Vince has never made tag team wrestling a major selling point of his card.
Of course he's smart enough to know when he has a great tag team on his hand, but McMahon knows that a tag team can only generate so much money.
The real money comes with your singles stars, and that's where Vince spends much of his time.
I don't agree with the way Vince has broken up many teams including Decue and Domino, both of whom failed miserably as singles stars, but that's the way the WWE/F has always been, and as long as Vince is in charge, it's not going to change.
