The Yankees started out very slow this year and looked poor all around, the only one hitting for the Yankees was Nick Swisher, and the only one pitching for them was A.J. Burnett. Mark Texiera was batting dismally and people wondered why they went out and got him. Then all of a sudden A -rod returns and helps out the Yankees tremendously. They have won eight straight as of now, Mark Texiera is getting for fast balls to hit and he's going yard with them now more often. A-rod has made a giant impact on the Yankees team. So I think now the Yankees are heading to interleague play( where they normally dominate the weaker N.L.) and they have a great chance to just blow open the A.L. East they will make the playoffs and go deep into the playoffs? Your guy's thoughts.

their offense has been great and the bullpen has been good during the streak too. joba's injury worries me but he was pitching very well along with c.c burnett and petitte. if wang comes back and pitches like he used to and joba is ok, then the yankees have no reason to not win this division

The Yankees always were a good team. You can't have that much talent on a team and not be. People were freaking out because they were looking at the standings in April.
Now all of a sudden everyone is "surprised" by how well the Yankees are doing.
Bottom line is that people are looking to bury the Yankees, and the second they do bad people start dancing and their "supposed graves."
Problem is that people forget this is the Yankees, and there is a reason they've won 26 World Series titles.
I'm not a Yankee fan, I don't even like them myself, but they are a good team no matter how much people hate to believe it.
Well said pmoe and I do agree that people always claim the season is dead when the Yankees have a skid of losing streaks or are losing in the standings in april. I have said this and i will say it again the Yankees are asecond half team and I do not worry to much about how they are doin in April because there is still a lot of baseball left to be played. The Yankees normally have a great time beating the N.L. and go on a winning streak. I have all the faith in the world that the Yankees will win the A.L east. Problem with ESPN is that they are pro pro pro Boston. So of course when the Yankees do bad they will let you know it. Peter Gammons is most biased reporter out in the MLB. I am surprised that peopl lik him.I find him very annoying.
