As a long time 49er fan, I never though the day would come where i would say this, but here goes: Thank You Al Davis. I never thought you would make me happy in any way but yesterday you did. By loving the 40 yard dash like a hooker loves truck stops, you made my day so happy I almost wrecked my van driving along the interstate. There it was, the Raiders drafting number 7 with the consensus best WR on the board. The raiders ahve already drafted their QB of the future in JaMarcus Russell and their RB of the future in Darren McFadden and now they have their chance to take the Best WR in this draft. The pick is in and The Silver and Black select.........Darrius Haywood-Bey........WTF?? I threw my Dr.Pepper at the windshied, which in case you haven't done this, makes it very difficult to see as you drive down the interstate.I was sure they were going to take Michael Crabtree. Crabtree has been the consensus best WR in this draft sice the day he declared he was leaving Texas Tech. Maybe the foot injury scared some people away but even then the second best WR was Jeremy Maclin. Haywood-Bey was considered mid to late first round at best. But in Al Davis's eyes, if you run 4.3 in the 40, he will blow you. Wether you can catch the ball is a different story, but this is the NFL and speed rules. Ignore the over 230 catches Crabtree had in 2 seasons at Tech and over 40 TD's. Ignore that last second catch in the endzone to beat Texas, Haywood-Bey is fast. In 5 years or so I could be proven worng. Heywood-Bey could become the next Tim Brown and Crabtree could be Reggie Williams. You never know with the NFL Draft. But on this day, in the eyes of this scarlet and gold fan, Al Davis made me Jizz in my pants.
