MIAMI -- Dwyane Wade broke his own Miami Heat single-season scoring record Monday, topping the mark set in the 2005-06 championship season.

Wade's fourth point against the Memphis Grizzlies gave him 2,041 this season, one more than he managed in 75 games three seasons ago. Monday was Wade's 69th appearance of the season.

He got the record-setter on a layup with 10 minutes left in the opening quarter, giving Miami a 9-0 lead.

Wade also has the third-highest single-season scoring effort in Heat history, getting 1,854 points in the 2004-05 campaign.

Glen Rice has the No. 4 and No. 5 spots on the Miami all-time list, with 1,831 points in 1994-95 and 1,765 points in 1991-92.

This is a great thing to see happen. I think he could end up winning come back player of the year award. If anyone deserves it he does. He battled injury's all season last year and the way he has come back is like the way he played when they won their cahmpionship. I know Lebron's there and he will prolly end up winning the MVP but i think D-Wade deserves it more with what he ahs done
