The rumors have been running rampant since November; when, if, will, Christian (Cage) return to WWE? After rumors swirling about being the force behind the Jeff Hardy/Edge angle since Survivor Series that would set up a Hardy/Christian match at WM25; we saw that "creative" swrived us all by putting Matt Hardy as the person behind the Jeff Hardy incidents.
With out no fanfare at all; Christian returned to WWE tonight and on the ECW brand. It has been a long time since we had an actual surprise on Wrestling televisions without it breaking on an internet site.
What do you think about the move?
I personally think the tide has turned tonight for the ECW brand, making it an even more watched show then it was before (and it's a hell of a wrestling show). With the return of Christian tonight, the debut of Tyson Kidd (TJ Wilson) who is a hell of a canadian talent, we might be begining to see the ECW brand be actually taken seriously.
With more then one storyline already in place; Swagger-Finlay (and Christian?), Dreamer's run at the ECW title one last time, the always entertaing Miz-Morrision, Tyson Kidd-Jamie Noble (started tonight, should be a good television feud). It appears the ECW brand is going to be something watch in the next couple of weeks. Good moves by WWE tonight.
What you know is what ECW told you tonight, Tyson Kidd aka "The Stampede Kid" TJ Wilson, is yes; one of the last good talents out of the Hart Dungeon.
He grew up with Bret and Owen Hart's nephews, Teddy Hart, DH Smith and their niece (and TJ Wilson's real life girlfriend) Nattie Neidhart. The kid has compared to as a young "Dynamite Kid." Which anyone who watches old wrestling tapes knows that is a high accomplishment becuase the Dynamite Kid was known inside the ring as one of the best natural born talents to grace the squared circle.
For modern day fans, The Dynamite Kid can be transcended to the Chris Benoit; another great worker inside the ring.
TJ Wilson has been in WWE Development for quite sometime (I believe 2 years, don't quote me on it) working with "The Hart Foundation 2.0" (DH Smith, Teddy Hart, Nattie Neidhart and TJ Wilson) which was rumored to be called up to the main roster around Surviror Series 2007; which obviously never happened.
The next rumor was TJ Wilson was going to be called up to the main roster around the Fall of this year under a Tag Team known as "The New Hart Foundation" tagging with DH Smith and having Nattie Neidhart as a manager. This never happened also, with rumors spreading that DH Smith would be (eventually) heading to The Legacy.
Tyson Kidd has a ton of potential and can be a very good technical wrestler down the line if creative kind hopefully find something for him and hopefully he will click with the fans (I'm sure it won't be a problem for him in Canada). This was a very good move by the WWE higher ups by placing him on the ECW brand and also starting him out with a very under rated worker like Jamie Noble.
Was Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville, Kentucky for the longest time (producing talent like John Cena, Batista and Randy Orton) but it's Development terrority is now located in Tampa, Florida and it is called Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).
Talents like Ricky Ortiz, Jack Swagger and Evan Bourne have been produced through that terrority thus far. Currently they have just about every wrestler's child working there, with people like Dakota Darsow (Barry "Repo Man" Darsow's son), DH Smith (British Bulldogs Son) and children from the Briscos, Mulligan and Rotunda families.
DH Smith, the former Low-Ki now known as Kaval and Eric Escobar (just did a House Show run as Eric Perez) are guys that will probably make an impact on the main roster very soon.
