Steelers win super bowl 43

Wow... that was one of the best super bowls i have ever seen.  From pittsburgh being up big at half, to fitzgerald scoring the td to but arizona up, and then the sensational throw and catch by holmes.  Thoughts on the game?

You know I am so glad that the NFL has the cap.....since the cap has balanced the league power the Super Bowls have become actually pretty watchable....excellent game....even though I hate that the Steelers are the first team to 6 titles.

I wanted the steelers to win cuz i made a bet for 5 bucks. in fact out of a room of 15 people, i was the only one who wanted the steelers to win. when santonio holmes scored that td, i thought i was going to get my head chopped off. but anyways, that was an amazing game. i think that might have been the best super bowl ever

I wouldn't say it's the greatest Super Bowl ever, last year's game still is one of the best Super Bowl's I have seen. But last night's game is definately up there.

That game was pretty awesome yesterday. Big Ben was able to escape from the pocket many times and hit Santonio for 5-8 yd gaines when they needed it. and he did that multiple times and that helped em win the game with the help of James Harrison 100 yd INT for a TD at the end of the 2nd Quarter.

That turned out to be a pretty exciting game. That final drive was a career defining drive for Big Ben. That was his John Elway moment. I was watchin it with my friend who is a Steelers fan, and we were both saying that Holmes deserved the MVP. Then after he caught that TD, we were saying that it would've been crazy not to pick him as MVP. That was a big coming out party for Holmes. Good game, but not nearly as good as last years.

I'd say it was one of the top 5 superbowls as far as the game went...but the refs screwed that game up so bad it got to the point where I was yelling at the screen and I really didn't care who won.

yeah there was a lot of headscratcing calls made by the refs. like on the last play i thought that was an incomplete pass

The refs had nothing to do with the final play. That is not the ref's call on whether or not to review the play. It is the booth's call. Obviously, the guys in the booth saw the play, saw the replay, and decided it was a fumble and therefore decided not to have the ref review it. And it wouldn't have mattered anyway, because it was a fumble. He did not have the ball in his hand as his arm was coming forward. The ball was on his arm and pads. It wouldn't have been overturned. And even if it did get overturned, the Steelers wouldve had 2 guys on the line, and the rest back in coverage.

I loved this Superbowl game it had drama to the very end and was very exciting. I got admit after the Steelers went up 20-7 I thought the game was over right then and there and it would be over, but to my amazement the Cardinals came back with the touchdown catch by Larry Fitzgerald, the safety and then another touchdown catch by Larry Fitgerald. Then as we all know Santonio made the third best catch in Superbowl History by dragging the feet in bounds with 35 seconds to go. As for the incomplete pass I do think that the refs should have reviewed it, but even if the Cardinals got the ball back they probaly would have thrown a long ball down the field and it would have been batted down ending the game right there on the spot. This was a great game, but it pales to comparison to the Giants vs. Patriots game. The Giants came rallying back and had the best catch I have ever seen caught by David Tyree. Then Steve Smith caught a ball on 3rd and 13, and then Plaxico caught the go ahead touchdown pass from Eli Manning. The Giants win 23-17. Superbowl 42 in my opionion was better because of the storyline going into it. How the Patriots were 18-0 and they were going to walk all over the Giants and win the Superbowl. The only person I saw that picked the Giants was Dr.Z from SI and that guy is a guy that isn't to good at what he does, example last year he chose Vernon Gholston to go number one, as everyone knows he didn't go number one. He went number six to the Jets. Btw that was the worst draft pick ever, he got deactivated this year because he couldn't learn the Jets system. The Cardinals had a storyline about how Kurt Warner was going to the Superbowl again after being on and off starting QB for the Cardinals, and how the Cardinals haven't won a major Championship in 61 years, and now as we all know it is 62. The Steelers storyline was that they were going to win their 6th Superbowl Championship. Play of the Game was when James Harrison returned the ball 100 yards for a touchdown. That in my opionion was the moment the tide shifted in favor of the Steelers.
