it's very safe to say that the acc and the big east are the top two confrences in the nation and coach k made a bold statement saying the ACC was from top to bottom better than the ACC. Now i completley disagree with coach K but it's nice to see him make statements like this every now and again. The big east is just SO stacked with very good teams it's easy to say that they're the top conference in the nation. What do you think?
I love me some Duke basketball and the ACC is very tallented but i mean come on the Big East is scary good up and down. I mean you start with West Virgina then move up to villinova Notre Dame, Georgtown (Who is slipping alot), Hell even Providence. Then you get into the big teams that will win for sure Conneticut, Pittsburg, Lousville and Marquett. The ACC has Duke, North Carolina, and the number one and only undefeated Wake Forest but give me the Big East here

i think the acc is the best in the nation. it has the #1 and #2 teams in the nation, along with unc and clemson. some may say the big east is deeper, but i dont really think so. florida state, va tech, and miami all have a chance at the end of the season to make the ncaa tournament. i think the big east will have at least 8 teams in the tournament, but keep in mind it is the biggest conference in college basketball. i think the acc top to bottom is better than the big east
but don't forget penn state those 8-9 teams that would get into the NCAA tournament are all ranked in the top 25. Big conference or not all these teams are able to be ranked in the top 25 which no other conference can say.
thats true but when you talk about depth in a conference, sure the big east has 8 ranked teams but the other 8 teams dont impress me much. on the acc side you have 4 ranked teams, and 4 other teams that recieve top 25 votes every week. yes the big east has more ranked teams but i think as far as depth goes the acc is better
so you're impressed with maryland, nc state, boston college, georgia tech, and virginia?? They are all not playing to their expectations right now and frankly that boston college upset was a flat out fluke. The big east is just soooo dominate at the top that it makes up for the teams on the bottom. And with a big conference you'll always have teams that are bad at the bottom. But the fact that the big east has so many teams in the top 25 makes them the better conference.
No i think that the teams making it in the ACC will be Wake, Duke, NC, Clemson, FSU, Miami and Va Tech. I mean Maryland is an outside chance but theres seven teams right there

The best conference is the Big East. The ACC can not compare with the talent they have. I know that the ACC has the top two ranked teams in the country, but if you look at all the teams in the Big East compare to ACC they lose big.
Let me say this the top 4 teams in the ACC : Wake, Duke, UNC and Clemson is stronger than the top 4 teams from the Big East: UCONN, Louisville, Georgetown, and Pittsburgh...But overall as a conference the Big East has more depth than the ACC. The Big East has 16 teams which is too big for one conference but Norte Dame, Marquette, West Virginia, Providence, Syracuse, Providence, Seton Hall and St. John's (Throw out DePaul, South Florida, Cincy and Rutgers) are much better than Miami, Florida State, NC State, Maryland, Boston College, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Granted conference play is a lot tougher because every match is a war and they know every tendency from the other teams. But the top 12 teams in the Big East are better than the 11 teams in the ACC. Instead of the ACC-Big 10 Challenge they should have the ACC-Big East showdown....There will be 9-10 teams from the Big East that make the tournament while only 5-6 teams from the ACC will make it...We will find out the best conference in March come tournament time and it would not suprise me if the Final four was Duke UNC Pitt and Louisville with a Pitt and UNC final...I will answer any questions about college basketball and will be running a march madness bracket pool for all MESN members.
Yah and notice how the Big 10 always loses to the ACC in that competiton. They should do like a Big 10 SEC Challenge that way it'd be closer in competition.
