Tim Tebow...a projected 3rd Round...Halfback!?

I was watching Sportscenter this morning and saw that Mel Kiper Jr. project Tebow as a 3rd Rounder which surprised me some, but what really surprised me is that he said he would be a 3rd Rounder, best fit as a Runningback!?

Am I the only one that think Tebow would be a good fit as a QB in the NFL? I would love this guy on my team, he's a true leader, plays hard everygame, the guy is a awesome football player.

Thoughts?

Hell yeah that fits. In fact I think he is kind of like a LeRon McClain, a running fullback that can run not only from the goaline, but from anywhere.

i think he would be fit as a qb.as u said jp, he has great leadership and a nice arm so i really dont see him as a rb or te

Either way, he's gonna suck in the NFL. He's not fast enough to be a running back, and there hasn't been a good lefty quarterback since Steve Young. He reminds me of a slighty better Cade McNown. Also, Tebow is a giant douche and a tool.

How can you call Tebow a douche and a tool. This guy goes on misonarie trips to the Philippeans durning his Spring break. And i think he would eba good fit at rb/fb or even at Te and a real stretch would be linebacker

I call him a douche and a tool because of the whole, "No one will work harder then me, God Bless." thing. And let's he plays running back, he won't be good cause he's not fast enough to be a good running back in the NFL. Then you say TE or maybe even linebacker. He may be strong enough to be a tight end, but can he catch? No one knows. And he def. isn't strong enough to be a linebacker. Either way, he will be a bust.

Hey I have a question Steven he is a great man of religon and he was right no one did work better than Tim Tebow did. Tim Tebow will be able to catch a ball.

WHOA!!! You just opened up a whole new argument!!

But to finish the previous argument, im sure you've seen the press conference, the way he was talking about working hard, practicing hard, being the hardest working team, came off as a little douchy. And in most of his interviews he comes off as extremely douchy. I mean one step ahead of Ladanian Tomlinson but one step below Kanye West. He's about a Tony Romo right now in level of douchiness. He carries himself as "Look at me and all the great things I do and all the wonderful things I've accomplished." That's great that he does all those things, but he kinda shoves it down our throats that he does them.

Now to start that new argument. He is not even close to being the best college football player ever. He's not even the best quarterback ever in college football history. That's probly Doug Flutie or Chuck Long. And you would think, maybe, if he was the best player ever, he would've won the Heisman this year. Yes he won a Heisman last year, but that was just because he had a better season than Darren McFadden. So heres a question for you, if Tim tebow is the best college player in this millenium so far, what does that make Sam Bradford. You know, the guy that just won the heisman instead of Tebow.

Hey um Steven Sam Bradford is a very good QB, but no one has the work ethic, the leadership, and the skills of a the best QB of this millineium. He has dominated the SEC the hardest conference everyone proclaims.

everyone knows what kind of athlete tebow is. even if he fails at QB, he still has a spot in the league. his biggest problem is adjusting from the spread to a pro style O. many spread style QBs have been taken in the 1st, including another urban meyer product (Alex Smith) tebow has a much higher ceiling than smith, who was a fumbling machine waiting to happen.

Baja when ALex Smith was starting they went through four offensive coordinators in four years, they had an awful offensive line, I don't care who you stick back there it won't matter he'll get sacked or ran out of the pocket and get hit and beat up.

ok bob im pretty sure those offensive cordinators all had him throwing the ball, and do u want me to start telling what QBs have been successful and have had bad o lines? that cordinator comment means he throws a lot of picks he also has small hands

"Sam Bradford is a very good QB, but no one has the work ethic, the leadership, and the skills"

And the only way you know that Tebow has a good work ethic is because he shoves it down the media's throats, who all shove it down the public's throats. It's like one one big gay douche bag orgy.

And what I still don't get is, if Tebow has the best work ethic and the best skills, one would assume he'd win the Heisman right? But instead Sam Bradford won it. I still don't get how that works out? How can you explain that?

do u know how long a milenium is bob? its 1,000 years, so u are basically saying he is the greatest college fb player all time. red grange, barry sanders, herschel walker, sammy baugh, jim thorpe, tony dorsett, bo jackson, vince young, charles woodson, roger staubach, earl campbell, john elway, jim brown, reggie bush, archie griffin, etc. are all better than tebow

stevemj, he may have said some things in that press conference that was douchy, but at least he has lived up to those things hes said. nobody has played better than him, or worked harder than him and thats why his team is the champion

But whats douchy is that he said he'd work hard, he wroked hard, then he goes, see i told you i would. Look he's a top tier college player, the stuff he said he was gonna do, is stuff that is expected of him. We all expect him to work hard, we as sports fans, don't need him telling us he's gonna work hard.

but there are top tier athletes, nevermind college or pros, who dont work hard. yes all athletes should work and play hard but there are a few who dont and for me its refreshing to see a player like tebow gurantee that

Ok, so he says it, then he does it, but he does it in a way that he's doing it just for the attention. When whoever it was on the Sooners called him the 4th best QB in college right now, he responded with something like, "They are all great QBs, but I can gaurentee none of them are as hard working as me." He is shoving it down our throats. I think its refreshing to see guys like Bradford or McCoy who just go about their business and do what is expected of them as a top athlete, instead of bragging about how they do it, they just do it.

Um baja this millenium just started hints the 2000's thats why I said so far he has been the best college football player this millenium. Will there be better players absolutely, but as of now he is the best in like 9 years.

Tebow is a man of his word. He says he will play harder than anyone ever has and eh does. I think that sometimes he can get a little preachy and ****. Hes not the best player in this milemum. If you think about it you could prolly put him int he top250-500 players ever. He has great work ethic and will do anything to help his team win.

Tebow is not the best player of the millenium, I believe that title goes to Reggie Bush

Reggie Bush very good in college, but he can't have it. Tim Tebow has won two National Championships and a Heisman. He is a QB and Reggie Bush is a reciever. Its a sad fact but he QB gets all the credit for a team doing very good.

I love tebow but the best player of the melenium was Hershal Walker. Only man to win two hesimans and he ran for a lot of yards.

Last millenium no way, it had to be Archie Griffin, he won two Heismans. He was a really bad player in the NFL, but when you win two Heismans you got to be considered the best player in college football.

1. Tebow is not the best player this millenium. 2. Neither is Reggie Bush, and he was a receiver either, he was a running back. 3. Herschel Walker didn't win two Heismans. 4. Tim tebow is still a douche.

That is all.

Steve that would be pretty impressive if he wins three national championships and two Heisman trophys, that would be very impressive.

If he does, I will give it to him as the best player probably ever in college football. But that is highly unlikely.

I wouldn't put it past him being able to win his third national championship. I think the Heisman might eb a little harder to win but its within reach

ok i'll put my two cents in here... i agree with steve about tebow and the "douchiness" factor. I know he goes on those mission trips but seeing him brag about it kind of makes you scratch your head and wonder "why does he actually do those trips." is it because he wants more attention? And about Tebow being an NFL player... no way. He's too slow and not strong enough to play tailback. And frankly he doesn't have the skill to be a successful quarterback in the NFL. AFL... maybe.

Thank you Baconator. I'm glad someone else sees through the media's love for the guy and sees that he truly is a douche bag. The thing that got me was his "John 3:16" eye black. I guess a part of me is sick of it having gone to a catholic school for 12 years of my life. Look, it's great he's a religious man, it's great that he has strong beliefs, but I just don't care.

And you want to hear someone who is doing or will be doing as much as tebow?? Myron Rolle. This kid is going to skip on the NFL for a year and complete his road scholarship at freaking oxford?!?! Has he made a big deal of this?? has he bragged about how when his football career is over that he's going to be helping kids over in the bahamas? Did he make a big deal about missing a half of football because of his studies? No. That's what's wrong with Tebow.

how can you not like a guy who defines the term student athlete? and he was going to be a second to third round pick not a first. AND... you have to respect someone like myron who is studying at oxford and not gloating like tebow would.

This kid is really just looking out for himself after football. And why not? An average football career lasts something like 6 years. Most football players retire in their 30's. Why wouldn't he accept the Rhodes Scholar and go to Oxford. He did say that he's gonna enter the 2010 draft. So it's not like football is completely out of the question. And if your thinkin he'd get more money in the NFL, I highly doubt it. As a defensive back, it's almost a sure thing that any job you get with a degree from Oxford is gonna pay just as well if not better than the NFL. Smart kid, and respectful. Very humble, he is the anti-douche.

Dlae I am honestly impressed that Myron Rolle would go to Oxford Universtiy that really surprised me that he wouldn't go to the NFL. He though would probaly have a three or four year career and be out of the league. He could make and NFL team in 2010 or 2011.

So the point i (and mostly steve) were trying to make was that i have respect for tebow for the things he's done but rolle is doing the same thing and you don't hear a peep out of him unlike tebow who needs to say "hey look at me and what i'm doing!!!"

Exactly. I'll give Tebow his props cause he is one the best players in college football right now, but he's a total douche. Hes like Tony Romo but to a further extent. Romo helps people out on the side of the room and pays for a bums movie ticket, then brags about it. Tebow goes on mission trips. And basically, Myron Rolle is nothing but a class act.

Myron Rolle is a CB that he isn't a QB. As you all know as well as I do the QB is the money postition, they will get all the credit in the world even if they don't deserve it.

So the only reason myron rolle isn't getting attention is because he's a CB??? Deion Sanders??? it's not about the position... it's about the attention you bring to yourself.

first of all myron rolle is a safety, but thats neither here nor there. i greatly respect this guy for doing the smart thing and put his education in front of his athletics. like cheesybacon said, he defines the term student athlete. he was going to be a 2nd-3rd round pick, and he still might succeed in football, but he is definetly going to succeed in life.good for you myron

Hey cheesy um I didn't say that at all. I said he didn't get as much attention as a QB because the QB is the money position and you know a s well as I do a QB is more valuvalbe than a CB.
