Ok. So yet again this year we have a big problem with the BCS Standings. They have so many teams up there in the Big 12 South that its going to be hard to see who makes it in the National Championship game. So here is how i see it playing out as of right now. Bama runs the tables and loses to florida in the SEC Championship game. Texas Tech loses to Oklahoma and then Oklahoma plays Missouri in the Big 12 Championship game and they win that. So then its Florida vs Oklahoma in the National Championship game. Florida wins it. Then USC plays Penn ST in the Rose bowl while both Bosie ST makes one of the other ones and Utah and Ball St get shut out after running the tables.

I think the fact that a Big East & ACC team has an automatic bid to a BCS Bowl game is a joke. Why even have a BCS Standings system if a team from one of the 6 major conferences have an automatic berth. If Alabama only finishes with 1 loss and so does Texas Tech they will probably get at large berths. Ball St never had a chance from the start and I cant really argue that being that they are in the same conference as Temple. As far as Utah goes if they run the table then they get in. If Oklahoma beats Texas Tech I dont know if it puts them in the Big 12 title game cause you cant forget about Texas who also beat them. An SEC or Big 12 2 loss team will get over a MAC team in a heartbeat. The only way a Ball St could get in is to run the table while playing one hellva non conference schedule. It would have been real interesting if Penn St ran the table and finshed in one of the top 2 BCS spots because they would have played for the national title while the Rose Bowl although a BCS Bowl game will ONLY take entrants from the PAC10 and Big Ten opening the door for Ohio St to be guaranteed a BCS berth.
I think a tie is besides the point because Texas Tech can score snd score alot on anybody so I dont think Oklahoma can get it done. As of right now 2 loss Georgia holds the final BCS berth and even if Oklahoma does lose to Tech they should still get in over Georgia. Lookin like Utah as of right now gets the only non BCS conference berth and if they lose maybe Boise gets in, if not youre looking at 10 teams from all BCS conferences. As for the national title game I'm going with Florida vs. Texas Tech, but if Tech beats Oklahoma and some how loses to Missouri I would go with Florida vs. Texas. In my opinion Texas is the best team in the country.
Texas is one of the best teams in the country by far. Now i dont want to be a band wagoner here but i think Florida is the best team int he country. I know their one loss looks bad considering it was against a non ranked team but you got to think that they only lost by one and it was off a missed extra point and what they ahve been doing to all the teams since then. Beat a pretty good LSU team by 30. A dam good Georgia team by 39. And nothing else has been close but that one loss. They will make it after they win the SEC. The SEC has to make it cause they are the strongest conference and have the best teams

Woh Woh not so fast Dale. The SEC is not the best conference this year that is where you are wrong. It has to be the Big 12. In the Big 12 you got Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State has two losses while Oklahoma and Texas have one loss. Texas Tech is undefeated. Lets not forget that MIssouri is doing pretty good right now also. In the SEC you got number one Alabama and number 4 Flordia. Who do you have after that. Lets see um no one. Georgia has been a big joke this year. LSU has not been very well this year at all. And how bout Auburn 5-5 are you serious that is a joke for them that is a disgrace. AUburn is supposed to be a national power house every year and this year they have not been. Vandy started out well and has dropped significantly. The Big 12 has Kansas and Nebraska. They have been very solid teams this whole year.

I would have to agree with Dale on this just for the simple fact that SEC has shown 1 thing that the Big 12 has not, something that you always hear that wins championships, are you ready Bob, DEFENSE. Outside of Texas nobody in the Big 12 knows what that is. Its great to see Oklahoma or Texas Tech put up 60 points on some creampuff but whats alarming is they win by around 30 putting up 60, until they can prove they can stop somebody and when I say somebody I mean a decent team the Big 12 is overrated in my book.
Wally this is why I am going to love to see the national championship. I like how everyone says great defenses win championships, but I don't think we have ever seen an offense like Texas Tech. Texas Tech can pass you up all day and all night. Texas Tech needs to run more to balance it out, maybe do a courple of draw plays here and there. Alabama can't stop Tech or Texas, or Oklahoma. THe SEC has some ok defenses . THe best defenses in the SEC is probaly Flordia. But the best defense in the whole Nation belongs the Trojans of USC. THey made a great effort against my Washington Huskies, and then did an execelent job containing Cal to threee points. Anyways Alabama has an ok defense you can throw on them just like Texas Tech will do if they verse the Crimson Tide in the BCS Championship Game.

Actually Texas has given up less points even after today with a Tech bye week and playing 1 more game which I actually find unbelieveable being the cupcake non conference schedule they played(E. Washington, Nevada, SMU, & UMass) I'm not sure about E. Washington but I know for a fact that the UMass football program is I-AA. Texas didnt play that much better of teams but there was no I-AA teams and an SEC team albiet Arkansas. I do agree with you Bob about USC, the Trojans have played like a team on a mission since losing to OSU giving up a grand total of 23 points in 6 games since and I believe 0 in the 2nd halves. I believe the reason is a 3 loss team(2 non conference) OSU can win out vs Cal,Arizona, & Oregon they will win the PAC-10 by virtue of beating SC and earn the Rose Bowl bid further turning the BCS into more of a laughing stock then it already is. Also by BCS rules only 2 Big 12 teams can earn BCS Bowl bids.
I wasn't saying that the SEC was the best this year. I said they are the strongest and have the best teams. never said anything about it beign the best this year. I do think the best competition has been in the Big 12 yes. But like Wally was saying the Big 12 has horrible defense and the SEC teams have the strongest Defenses in the nation. Florida is the best team in the SEC and has the best Defense in the Nation. Everyone thinks its Alabama because they are ranked number one but their D isn't that good. Flroida's D has been holding the other SEC teams to very few amounts of points since their lone loss. They are forcing tunrovers and getting points off of turnovers. The Special teams is the best in the nation no questions asked. They can come out and block a put of a field goal when needed and Brandon James retunring Punts is the worst thing another teams punter could do is punt to him cause he can run one back any given time. They have speed and strength which will help them against the Teams in the Big 12 once they play one of them in the National Championship game they will hold them.

Your right on the fact that Alabama is an overated defense, but Oklahoma in the Big 12 has a very good defense. I think that LSU is a disgrace to the BCS this year. THey almost lost to a very weak team in Troy. The LSU Tigers showed no defense in that game until the very end of the game. I believe that LSU will drop this week in the standings because of how poorly they played. Back to the Big 10. I think that the BIg Ten is a lack lustered divisoion. Seeing Ohio State in another BCS game will be horrible. USC will get the bid for the Rose Bowl and they will beat any of those BIG Ten teams. Even though Penn State has a great offense USC has an even better defense

Now see the thing is right now IF Oreon ST can win their last two games they make it to the Rose bl as Pac Ten CHamps because if you recallhey beat USC and both of them have one loss inthe conference so the tie breaker would go to Oregon ST. Pe St will win the Big ten mostlikely

it kills me to hate on my team but after losing to iowa its no holds barred. i wouldnt be shocked if penn state loses to michigan state and then what happens? theres a 3-way tie atop the big ten (assuming ohio state wins against michigan) so wuts the tie breaker situaion there?
I don't see how anyone can say that Alabama's defense is overrated, the majority of the points given up all year have come in the 4th quarter against their 3rd string except for the LSU game. Even with that they have one of the best scoring defenses and one of the top rushing defenses in the country.
actually it means the other teams first string offense is better than alabamas third string defense. But enough about Bama what about Oklahoma putting up over 60 on Texas tech....that was an awesome display

Didn't surprise me one bit. Oklahoma was the better team going in and will be kicked in the nuts and wont make it to the national championship game unless Missouri beats Texas who will prolly go in the outh to the Big 12 Championship
