Some crazy @$$ college football this year

oregon state gets crushed by penn state 45-14, and they beat the #1 team in the country. georgia is supposed to be the best team in the sec and they get whooped by nick sabans tide. mr.heisman and the gators get beat at home by ole miss. wake forest loses to of all teams, navy. and the most pleasent surprise is penn state is 6th in the country! but can anybody explain how the college football world is gradually getting turned upside down?

I see this season is slowly turning into last season again.All the top 25 teams that lost last year especaly the ones and twos and i think it is starting to happen this year also. USC isn't as good as we all thought. I said before the season started Georgia wasn't the best team in the SEC. Florida just played a terrible game yesterday. Wake Forest i just dont know. Penn state is the best team in the Big ten

Haha this is great isn't it. I remember last year that 7 top two teams were beat last year and Im hoping the same will happen this year. I think the biggest load of crap is that the USC Trojans weren't knocked out of the top ten they lost ot the Oregon State Beavers comeon.

Yea thats a big load of ****. They should have atleast fallen to 11 or so considering florida and Georgia both fell jsut out of the top ten. florida should be in front of Georgia considering they only lost by one.

Not many people except for USC fans like USC. they are always said to be one of the best teams in the nation and then come in and end up losing to an easy ass team like Oregon ST again and will just end up in the Rose bowl like always.

yah they probaly will but what stinks is that they verse the Big ten. No disrespect to the Big ten but the big ten is one of the most overated conferences in College Football.USC always wins against the Big Ten teams which makes them look really good on National Television.

The big ten really isn't over rated its just a few of the teams there. Ohio State and Michigan who are overated. I think the Pac Ten is a little bit deeper with good teams than the Big Ten is. now no disrespect to Penn State who is really good but i think the Pac ten is jsut deeper.

Bob you have a real funny way of looking at things. A team in the Pac-10 automatically earns a BCS bowl game, you can call it what you want but politics aint it.

The poll that really matters is the BCS standings that dont come out in a while. These standings are computer generated and really favors strength of schedule, not just your schedule but also the schedule of your opponets. So for example if USC rips say Oregon and Oregon beats say Oklahoma in reality Oregons win will help USC more than it will help themselves. Which was exactly why Boise St didnt play for a national title 2 years ago when we all know they could hang with anybody in the country. So it being about politics, probably not, if anything College Football is more about the almighty dollar than anything else.

Yah bout that Wally they have said on FSN and ESPN that with this loss USC has pretty much no chance of getting to the National Championship due to the fact that there strenght in scheldule is less that a Georgia, FLoridia, and they still have to wait for teams that are at 0 losses to lose a game and looking at this Oklahoma won't lose a game this year and Alabama has a pretty good chance of winning out and getting to the National Championship.

Yeah, but in defense of USC its not their fault, the SEC is stacked. I think even Vanderbilt is in the top 25. It is a good thing though because like everbody else I hate USC.

No i'm not sick of them winning all the time. Its just one of those things that you could say fro anyone who dosn't like a team. But How about Vandy? They are Ranked and 5-0 leading the SEC East. Thats a great story

Yah I never thought I would see that happen or how bout Ball State the little school from Indiana is ranked 25th for the first time in there school history boy there have been a lot of weird things going on in college football this year. Or how about Kansas coming back from being down 20 to Iowa State and pulling off an upset win.

Kansas winning isn't an upset. Ball State is a good team. They play smart fundimental football. I watched them play on ESPN once thhis year and man they could be a wrecking force if they continue to play great and run the tables.

yah the only BCS team they have beaten so far this year though is Indiana and they aren't the best team in the Big Ten. I think that Ball State is good but one loss and they won't ever see the top twenty-five again.

The only problem with Ball St is that being in the MAC even if they run the table they probably dont even get a BCS Bowl game. Which is a crying shame.

The only problem I got is that they will probaly lose really soon and that will be the end of it for them. Why not put in Notre Dame they are 4-1 this year and have done pretty well against the teams they have played this year.

Well I think Ball st will run the table. They will make it to a bowl game and hell if people open their eyes they could see they are a good team. Notre Dame has played good yes but the thing is the only real big game they won was against Michigan who is sorry this year. They almost lost to Stanford after being up big. They need to prolly run the tables from here and beat USC to get alot of recignition

Jimmy Claussen is a piece of crap...Out here in SoCal for the last 5 years all you hear about is Jimmy Claussen. He sucks...Now the next big thing in SoCal is Matt Barkley from Santa Ana Mater Dei. From everyone I talk to he is legit and quite possibly the starting quarterback from USC if Sanchez leaves

Dont forget you still have the Arkansas transfer Mitch Mustain who never lost a game as a Freshman. I think he went either 4-0 or 5-0 as a starter there.

He left Arkansas to go to USC cause Hustan Nut benched him after he went 5-0 as a starter and to start his Casey Dick. Dick who is still there shouldn't have gooten the nod they should have stayed with Mustain so Mustain transferd to USC cause he thought he would get to play some once John David Booty left

Mustain and Damian Williams were really good friends at Arkansas and when Williams left along with the OC, Mustain knew it was over. Although now, if he had stayed, he would have been a perfect fi for Bobby Petrino's offense.

Well Sanchez is projected to be a first round pick, but dont discount Mustain. Since his 9th grade year, he has only lost 2 games that he started at QB. He was the 4th rated QB prospect in the class of 2005.

Back to the ball state story... even if ball state does run the table there is no way they get into a BCS game. Teams like Boise state and Hawaii who made a BCS bowl game actually lit up opponents and the scoreboard. Like dale said ball state is a very good fundamental team and with that they're not going to get in. They don't have a big name player like hawaii did with brennan or boise state did with zbranski. I'm sorry but a news year day bowl is probably all they'll get.
